Why do you think it is important to attend the Sustainability in Packaging conference?
Sustainability is an important corporate target of Nestlé to secure the future and well-being of society. Every time we redesign a package gives us the opportunity to improve on sustainability. Therefore it is important to regularly exchange knowledge on newest advances and to update the understanding of the global environment we operate in.
How do you foresee the future of packaging sustainability over the next 5 years?
With careful planning it may be possible to tailor solutions in order to maximise impact. Parallel the hard work continues to fulfil regulatory demand.
What are the main challenges the industry is facing from a material supplier perspective and how do you think this conference can overcome them?
Material suppliers are often not fully aware of the needs of the FMCG industry. From both sides more proactive communication would improve the chance to respond to the ever changing challenges in a faster pace. This conference may bring together parties to initiate conversation.
What are you most looking forward to at the Sustainability in Packaging conference in Barcelona?
I look forward to get a good overview at global level on the current status and future directions in sustainability that may feed our sustainable development strategy for packaging.
Can you provide a brief summary of what your presentation will cover and why it’s important for delegates interested in Sustainability in Packaging to attend?
My presentation will review how metal packaging is seen by currently popular industry measures for sustainable development, consumer perception, and circular economy. Metal packaging is not an often represented topic therefore it may be an interesting addition to the conference.
Why should delegates attend Sustainability in Packaging and what are the top 3 over riding takeaways they will receive?
I would say that as at any other conference event the key benefit is to get to know each other in a focused group. Therefore my top takeaways would be,
- An enhanced network with new connections
- An opportunity to take a peek into the future
- To obtain a detailed view of the present
