Intertech Pira is partnering with Carbonfund.org in order to offset greenhouse gas emissions generated from the upcoming Sustainability in Packaging 2009 conference. Activities considered for this offset include the attendees’ flight and hotel-related emissions which represent the majority of the event’s carbon footprint. As a result, Intertech Pira is offsetting 219 metric tons CO2 through a donation to Carbonfund.org. This donation reduces greenhouse gas emissions in the fight against climate change by supporting reforestation, renewable energy and energy efficiency projects, and supports Carbonfund.org’s mission of climate change education, carbon offsets, and outreach.
